In a 2021 article, Nigerian poet and novelist Ben Okri suggested that artists work from an ‘existential creativity’ as if ‘these were the last things…any of us will write’. Climate change, global pandemics and socioeconomic upheavals have all given us the feeling that these are the ‘end times’. What does that mean for poets and poetry? How do poets rise to this challenge?
