Tim Heffernan

Tim Heffernan is a Wollongong poet and recipient of the 2016 Joanne Burns Award. He was first published in 1985 in the Wagga Daily Advertiser. Tim has also appeared in Thylazine, Cordite, Eureka Street, Blackmail Press, Red Room Company and Verity La. A collaboration with Iraqi poet Haider Catan has led to translations in the Red Room Company’s Lyrikline, and most recently in Verity La’s Discoursing Diaspora. At the 2016 Wollongong Writers’ Festival, Tim brought together poets with a lived experience of mental illness for a ‘Mad Poets’ workshop, panel and readings.
