Max Ryan

Max Ryan lives in northern NSW, his father’s country. His collaborative CD with musician Cleis Pearce, White Cow, has received several music industry awards. He has twice won the Byron Bay Writers’ Festival Poetry Prize, won the Catchfire Press Poetry Prize and been short-listed for the Newcastle Poetry Prize. His first book, Rainswayed Night, won the 2005 Anne Elder Award. His chapbook, Before the Sky, was joint winner of the Picaro Press Poetry Prize. Before we lose each other again, his recording with Melbourne band Where Were You At Lunch, was launched at Queensland Poetry Festival in 2012.
