Ali Alizadeh

Ali Alizadeh writes about history memory, revolutions and love. His new book is The Last Days of Jeanne d’Arc (Giramondo). He grew up during a war in the Middle East and migrated to Australia as a teenager. He dropped out of a civil engineering degree to become an artist. He received a PhD for writing an epic poem. He has busked poetry in Melbourne and judged a student debate on Chinese TV. His books include Transactions (2013), Ashes in the Air (2011), Iran: My Grandfather (2010) and The New Angel (2008). He lectures at Monash University.
